I am reading Sweet Poison at the moment, it's an interesing book and not really light reading, but so far nothing I didn't already know through previous study I have undertaken.
I have a few addictions I want to break when it comes to sweetened food and drink and hopefully after reading both these books I will understand my cravings a little more and learn how to substitute successfully.
I'll keep you posted on this one.
I saw these books the other day in Big W. Didn't buy them even though I was tempted. I already know that sugar and fat cut out the diet will cause weight loss as well as improve your health. The liver loathes sugar...
ReplyDeleteJust gotta have discipline to cut it out lol!
Have a great day,
Tania
Good for you! We did away with white refined sugar almost 1 year ago and feel so much better. I use evaporated cane juice sugar (basically raw sugar) now called Sucanat or Rapadura, and we also use honey... A LOT. Stevia is what I use in my coffee most mornings. I do still have a sweet tooth afterall, but I'm happier and healthier! (And oh-so-glad that there are natural, healthy sweetners available.)
ReplyDeleteSounds like a great plan Sue. Hope that works out for you.
ReplyDeleteSue,
ReplyDeleteThere is a great video on You Tube (made through UCTV.TV) called Sugar The Bitter Truth. It's long but well worth watching. You can go to the website or google in You Tube and find it.
I'm too trying to cut down but this is a bad time for me to start!
